Pet Vaccinations

Disease can be prevented.

There are a number of diseases that can afflict cats and dogs, but most pets can be protected from the worst of them if they are vaccinated properly. Vaccines are health products that work to trigger protective immune responses and prepare pets to fight off possible future infections from any agents that cause such diseases.

We have your pet covered.

Our hospitals offer a variety of core and lifestyle (noncore) vaccines to provide tailored care to every patient. Dog and cat core vaccines generally include rabies and distemper combination vaccines, which offer protection against life-threatening rabies and distemper viruses. Lifestyle vaccines are given based on certain factors including risk of exposure, travel frequency, health history, size, and breed.

Currently, our vaccines for cats and dogs include:

Dogs:

  • Rabies vaccine (core)
  • Distemper combo (core)
  • Leptospirosis (core)
  • Bivalent canine influenza (CIV) vaccine (core)
  • Bordetella (core)
  • Lyme vaccine (non-core)

Cats:

  • Rabies vaccine (core)
  • FVRCP – Feline distemper vaccine (core)
  • Leukemia – A 2-shot series for kittens, then given based on risk (non-core)

When to start vaccinations.

During your pet’s first puppy or kitten wellness exams with us, we’ll be looking to start them on a proper vaccination schedule. These appointments typically take place when the pet is between 6 and 8 weeks old. We’ll make sure to tailor vaccine protocols for each pet’s lifestyle and needs.
